Privacy Policy and Terms of Service
Last updated: 31 July 2026
This policy explains what Amigurumi Buddy (“the app”) collects, why, and what control you have. It describes the app as it actually behaves — if the app changes, this page changes with it.
These never leave your phone unless you sign in and use the backup feature:
Deleting the app deletes all of this.
Signing in is optional, and you can sign in with an email address, with Apple, or with Google. In each case we receive:
Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication. We do not receive or store your password for Apple or Google sign-in.
If you import a pattern PDF while signed in, the original PDF file is uploaded to Firebase Storage in a folder that only your account can read or write. It is stored so you can restore your library on a new device. We do not read, index or share these files, and nobody else can access them.
If you are not signed in, imported patterns stay on your device and nothing is uploaded.
If a pattern cannot be read on-device, the extracted text may be sent to our own server to be structured into steps. Only the text is sent, never the file, and it is not retained after the response is returned.
We use Firebase Analytics to understand which parts of the app are used, so we know what to improve. Analytics events deliberately carry no personal information — no names, no email addresses, no pattern contents, no free text. They record things like which screen was opened and whether an action succeeded.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple, and managed through RevenueCat, which tells the app whether your subscription is active. We never see your payment card or billing details — Apple does not share them with us. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier and your purchase history for this app.
Only the service providers that make the app work:
| Provider | What they process | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase | Account, imported PDFs, analytics events | Sign-in, backup, analytics |
| RevenueCat | Purchase records, anonymous ID | Subscription status |
| Apple | Payment and subscription | Processing your purchase |
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
The patterns bundled with the app are free patterns published by their designers. If you are a designer and want your pattern removed, contact us and we will remove it.
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects you, tell you in the app.
